About

Spanning the disciplines of both drawing and sculpture, my work marries a minimalist aesthetic with an affinity for illustration and a deep respect for craft.

Emotionally-laden negative spaces; thoughtful, meditative placement; and composition as a subtractive process are the central elements of my art. The expansive negative spaces are not “empty"; rather, they have a visual and emotional weight that has become almost the true subject of my work. I am drawn to themes of memory, loss, and the ephemeral, as well as that which survives the passage of time.

It is these fleeting, haiku-like glimpses of another soul, or fragments of time in a landscape, that I find beautiful, and present as though a moment were embedded in amber.
